An iconic and rare haute couture dress by Yves Saint Laurent for his Autumn Winter 1990 haute couture collection, this dress has an exceptional visual record. Photographed upon Christy Turlington for American Vogue in 1990, Cindy Crawford for British Vogue in 1990 and Rebecca Romijn for American Elle in 2002, the dress was also seen on the 2002 Saint Laurent runway as a part of the retrospective couture show held to mark Yves Saint Laurent’s retirement.
Constructed in handmade lace, the dress is embellished with black sequins and lined in silk organza. Fastening with two press-studs to the right side hidden by two overscale bows, the dress is otherwise completely open and transparent. A spectacular and important example of one of Yves Saint Laurent’s most famous dresses.
